In January 2023, I developed a venous ulcer on my left ankle. I was treated at the local VA hospital and referred to several vascular surgeons in the area to determine the best course of action. After undergoing a vein ligation in the Fall of 2023, I was referred to the wound clinic at Raleigh General Hospital. I was there for approximately 6 months with no improvement. My son, who is a dentist, spoke with a sales rep that he knew and suggested that I reach out to Dr. Frame at the Wound Institute in Charleston, WV. When I made my first call, the receptionist asked me about the particulars about my wound and told me that this would be the last place that I would have to go. This made me feel very comfortable and I was eager and optimistic. My first appointment was December 27, 2023, and my ankle has been healing ever since.

Since I have been receiving care from the Wound Institute each week, the nurses and doctor are excited and anxious to see the healing progress going on as much as I am. Each week, the wound has visibly reduced in size. At this point in time, I feel that my ankle has improved 90% compared to what it was and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Frame and her staff. The Wound Institute and Megan, the company rep for the skin graph, have made a huge difference in my life.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Frame and her staff. No one knows the mental and physical toll that you go through with something like this. I went from being concerned that I may lose my foot to regaining my independence. I am so grateful and thankful I found Dr. Frame and her staff.

Warm Regards,
